Garry Schyman describes his inspiration for the concerto: “Zingaro is the Italian word for gypsy – while on a journey through Spain, I dreamt that I wandered into a large square or plaza in Madrid. In the dream, I saw a gypsy playing and improving a concerto, eyes closed, as if in a frenzy. An orchestra magically accompanied his wild improvisations. I awoke thinking of these images and even some of the themes and melodies I had heard in the dream. Upon returning home I immediately began composing this work.”
Comes with Piano Reduction and Solo part.
