Donna Diana Overture

Emil von Reznicek’s gloriously effervescent overture receives a much-needed makeover in this new edition by Lucas Richman. Originally notated in a brisk 3:16 meter which created a visual obstacle for the performing musicians, the work in its revised form is more comfortably wrought with all notes having been doubled in duration as well as being grouped in larger musical phrases in 12:8 meter. Additionally, numerous inconsistencies in articulation and phrasing have been addressed throughout the piece.
